Whenever we pray we are acknowledging our dependency upon God. We can do all that we can, but unless there is the blessing and Amen of God upon such endeavours we will not achieve anything of eternal value. Last year was our first Month of Prayer and what a blessing it was for us all – both for those praying and for those being prayed for.

This year we have an excellent reason to give thanks to God, for we are celebrating our twentieth anniversary. During the coming month we will reflect upon God’s faithfulness during those twenty years. Ministries which are now flourishing began with a God inspired thought to someone prepared to step out and do something about what God was showing them. The result of such faith is that many people have been blessed. Who knows what God will drop into someone’s thoughts during the coming year? The story of CHBC is one of God’s provision and leading. It is indeed an exciting story and yet we believe ‘the best is yet to come’.

We have presented our ministries this year under six section headings, although we recognise that ministries may operate at times in other areas.

Also included is a “Ministry Opportunities” section for most ministries. As you read and pray through the book, there may be an area in which you are interested in becoming involved. If so, please contact the leader/coordinator of the ministry or the church office.

To conclude our month of prayer, an evening of “Celebration” will take
place on Saturday 3rd June. Your invitation to this event is enclosed. Thank you for your part in the 2006 Celebration and Prayer month.
