CHBC is a Baptist Church under the covering of the Baptist Union of Victoria.
We believe that God has uniquely gifted each believer to serve Him and that such service will have the greatest impact when we receive the support and encouragement from one another in the local fellowship. We thus believe that the local church is still the primary means whereby God enables us to learn and grow together in His love, and in our understanding of His purposes. |

| We enjoy meeting together each Sunday to celebrate God's love. The preaching is life related and inspiring. We believe that God still touches lives and desires to bring wholeness and freedom to all. Many within the fellowship can testify to the power and love of God to transform lives. We are excited by what God is doing amongst us. |

| SOME OF OUR FOUNDATIONAL BELIEFS ARE .. |
|
|
- that the Bible is God's Word to us and is the authority by which we live.
- that God is one God in three persons … Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- that salvation is available only when we acknowledge our failure to live up to God's standard and when we accept in faith the completed work of Jesus Christ. This is sometimes called being born again.
- that at salvation the Holy Spirit enters our lives enabling us to become more like Jesus. He equips us to serve Jesus and make a difference in the community in which we live.
- that there are two special ceremonies Jesus commanded us to observe ...
- BAPTISM by which believers express their faith and commitment to following Jesus; and
- COMMUNION, which reminds us of the sacrifice of Christ. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
